Menards

Look what’s opening soon in our city… I drove by it the other day and just had to snap a pic with my phone:

I have never been in a Menards before, but I’ve seen it mentioned on several blogs. I’m super excited, and I know I’ll find out soon enough for myself… but what exactly makes Menards so awesome?? How is it different from Lowe’s or Home Depot? Someone give me the scoop!

ooh, I want the scoop, too! I've never shopped in one but it's always exciting to have new options for DIY shopping!

It's pretty similar to Home Depot, except they typically have cheaper prices. Some stuff is not as high quality (hence the cheapness), but there are some good deals to be found there.

Oh they have the best deals on big area rugs too!

We are Menards-a-holics. Definitely shop there more than HD or Lowe's. One of the things we like best is that it's an outdoor lumberyard. Unlike others, you can drive your car around and get help loading boards/siding/etc. I think it's more practical.

We also find much better deals there than other big box home improvement stores. They have a massive number of rebates, too.

Also, Menards was the only large home improvement store here when I was growing up. My dad was a contractor and that's where he shopps. I think it's just tradition, too.

Also - if you open a Menard's card, you get major rebates at the end of the year. With all of our purchases, it's worth it.

Hmmm... what else? Oh. Returns are simple. You can look up any receipt with your cards. No hassle of finding receipts.

Hope you like it! I'll be interested to see what you think since it's new to you. I think a lot of preference is just what you are used to.

Prices are better, and they carry great deals on things like Sprecher root beer and select groceries. So you can pick up some Cheerios with your BIN primer! haha

I wish Menard's would come to CA -- I hear such amazing things about the store in blogland!

Ugh, so jealous! I want a Menards, a Kroger, and an Ikea. I'd never have to shop anywhere else! lol

We have Menards in our area, and... to be honest I'm not a fan! Their returns are a PAIN IN THE BUTT, and the people working at my local one are soo super rude. They act like you're bothering them anytime you ask a question... but hopefully yours is better?? I pick Lowe's anyday
